MEF and LP PTA Working Together

Moraga Education Foundation

MEF and your LP PTA Working Together...

The Moraga Education Foundation (MEF) and LP's Parent Teacher Association (PTA) work together to make your child's TK-5 educational experience complete.  Both of these pieces of the puzzle are necessary in order to optimize the public school experience for every student.

MEF is One Part of the Puzzle
As the primary fundraising organization for all Moraga public school students TK-12th grade, MEF’s mission is to raise funds to bridge the gap between state education funding and the real cost of educating our children, through a broad-based community effort. Not only do your kids benefit in elementary and intermediate school, but MEF funds are also providing critical educational opportunities for them at the high school level, making your donations an investment in their future. The 2019-2020 MEF GRANT to the Moraga School District  is $1,625,000.

This year, MEF will pay for the following at LP: Science Aides, Next Generation Science
Standards Implementation, Counselor and Student Support Services, Student Wellness Staff
Development, Technology Instructor, Technology Upgrades, Math Acceleration/Intervention
Program, Reading Tutors, Art Teacher, Teacher Aides, Librarians, PE Teachers, and Music

Your LP PTA is Another Part of the Puzzle
The goal of the PTA is community building and advocacy, while nurturing strong relationships among parents, teachers and administration in support of our students. In addition to recruiting and coordinating volunteers, PTA monies are raised from events and programs such as the Fun Run, Fall Carnival, Read-a-thon, and Hot Lunch to plan and organize a mix of educational and fun school activities, including family social events, student assemblies, educational events (STEM night, Science Fair, Spelling Bee), parent activities and education, teacher appreciation events, and many more.

And YOU are the One Who Brings these Pieces Together

In addition to your financial contributions, another part of the puzzle is the time YOU give to our schools.  LP PTA volunteers provide over 20, 000 support hours yearly at each campus. And without your donations to MEF, our schools would not be the same.  You provide a key piece to the complex puzzle of education in our current environment to make our school great and one of the best in the state.  Thank you for bringing these critical pieces of the puzzle together!
