                <title>Summer Reading Program</title>
                <description><![CDATA[As promised, the Summer Reading Program is getting a little bit of a facelift this year. In the hopes of streamlining the backend processing of the program, saving some trees, and creating a community of LP peer readers for your children, all students will be asked to log their summer reading accomplishments using Biblionasium.com. helps your kids find books at just the right level, offers virtual rewards for meeting reading challenges, and, should you wish, it also allows them to share their thoughts and recommendations with their friends. Come the end of August, summer reading logs can be emailed to LP Reads. Parents will be receiving a Constant Contact via email with the final sign up and details early next week, so keep your eye out for that. Should you miss it, information about the program will also be placed on the (www.lpreads.blogspot.com) as well as on the LP PTA website under .                 <title>Attention ALL Volunteers!</title>
                <description><![CDATA[Attention All Volunteers! Thank you for your interest in volunteering at our school! Volunteers are an integral aspect of a great school and district. The Moraga School District has instituted the following guidelines for all who wish to volunteer their time at our schools. This includes field trips, classroom and office support, library support and any other volunteer support that may involve direct contact with students at a school or at a school program. Moraga School District volunteers are the backbone of many programs and services provided to benefit our students. There is little doubt the MSD would be the same without the tens of thousands of hours volunteered at each of our schools every school year. In order to better prepare our volunteers for their valuable service to students, and to address the District&amp;rsquo;s on-going plans to improve student safety, the MSD is rolling-out a new volunteer program. The District recognizes an informed volunteer will not only better support our students, but also better prepare volunteers when they offer their time and expertise. The volunteer program has been developed as an educational and efficient process for all volunteers to participate in prior to the start of the 2013-2014 school year. The process, watching a video and filling out a form, takes no more than 15 minutes. The District strongly encourages volunteers to begin this process now!
