The Moraga School District is fortunate to have MEF support for visual arts, which is an integral part of every child’s education. As research shows, developing a child’s creative side benefits a child in ALL areas of academic learning.
It is my goal to provide opportunities for your child’s creative expression, including teaching them how to draw what they see. LP students also learn how to critique an artwork—to help students understand the artist’s intent, style, and mood of an artwork. We talk about art in society—advertising, consumer products, clothing, architecture, and more. We learn about various well-known artists and sometimes paint or draw with the artist’s style in mind.
My art students are encouraged to try new ideas, push their creative limits, and feel very proud of their accomplishments. The real beauty is when the students realize their own potential and feel empowered by their artistic success.
I look forward to seeing students and their families at the Art Show during Open House.
